Ancient Greece History on Dipity.
Greece has gone through many trials and tribulation for thousands of years. They have been conquered and ran by other countries multiple times over the millenniums. The creation of democracy played a major role in the development of the country. This gave the people a voice to vote in the decisions made by the countries leaders. This was also the start of other countries implementing a democratic government. When the Greeks gained their independence back from the Turks after being controlled for 400 years this empowered Greece and gave them back the right to run their own country and make their own decisions. After Greece gained back control they held the first games of the modern Olympics. This established a new relationship between the countries around the world. They now had the opportunity to come together and compete in a friendly manner. This led to many new worldwide relations. When the new constitution of the Republic of Greece was created this took the power away from a sole person and created a presidency to be the face of the country as well as creating another role, the prime minister. The prime minister ran the government. This enabled the country to run smoother politically. Even though democracy had been established for thousands of years their still needs to be someone that is the leader of these governmental departments. Now Greece has developed a serious financial crisis. This is causing a depression in the country. Unemployment rates are through the roof and the government is having a hard time gaining back control of their country. This has now led to Greece being indebted to the European Union.
